I play around with the sounds, change the beats, alter the instruments, speed up or slow down the tempo a bit. There’s even a 16-channel sequencer and each channel has its own volume control. Then whenever I like any of the results, I simply hit the pad marked “record”, and it’s saved. From there, it’s a simple, final click of my mouse and I’ve exported the results – as MP3 files – straight to my hard drive.
Beats the competition
Sonic Producer beats the competition hands down, in terms of performance, flexibility, access and price. You’ll even find time-limited promotions that make membership even more cost-competitive. And once you’re a member, of course, you can use the facilities as often as you like, for as long as you like.
There’s not many of us who could possibly afford the recording time at the studios used by the likes of DJ Premier and Pete Rock. - Right to the fore is the program’s beat making machine, since this is what you’ll use to lay down the rhythm at the heart of your music;
- Talk about choice! So far, I’ve only managed to sample one or two of the thousands of rhythms on offer. Make your own rap beats or try something slower – it’s all there for experimenting, changing the tempo and selecting your rhythm;
- I also found a huge range of instruments for laying down my chosen rhythm, too. My personal favorite was a bass slap beat that I knew would sound better than anything I could find elsewhere;
- I worked my way through the extremely helpful online tutorial on production techniques that can also be found in the studio;
- It was difficult to tear me out of the studio, because I was enjoying myself so much and, with no restriction on the time I spend in there, I could have stayed all day.
- When I was done, it was a simple question of “exporting” the studio recordings I’d made straight onto my computer as MP3 files.
Sonic Producer delivers
For this user, Sonic Producer delivered just what I needed – my own space on line, but with all the help I could ask for whenever I needed it, and at a fraction of the cost of similar software that I’ve seen advertised. It provides a perfectly equipped online space in which to learn and to make music from the very first visit.
Making music comes from the roots – the grassroots. It’s born of those who have the beat, the rhythm, the music in their blood. It’s not at home in the high-price, sophisticated recording studio of established artists. It’s in my home. Your home.

I can tell you that much because I’ve made the trial for this Sonic Producer review. It’s a software program that took my music of the street, off the street and into my home. It’s clever. It’s easy to use. It gave me the beat. And it’s cheap.

I went into the software and it’s like a beat-making factory. Laying down the beat got easy. I was spoilt for choice. There was:
